Remembering The War

As near as I can tell, the following represents some kind of a consensus view of the Vietnam War by the brothers in the Vietnam Combat Veterans PTSD Group down at the local VA:

All of us did shit.
Some of us burned shit.
Others watched shit flow downhill until we were thigh deep in it.
Some of us got Purple Hearts, but all of us were wounded, and it felt like shit.
None of us knows why we came back and others did not, but shit happens.
Many of us were treated like shit when we came home to the States.
Can you imagine why we all think the war was shitty?

Will's Whimsical Words:

Shit, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
